Do you want to be part of a literacy movement bringing young adult authors, students, teachers, and readers together in Tampa Bay?
Does getting books in the hands of teens, especially those from underfunded schools, sound like the kind of mission you believe in?
Would you like to be a part of helping a young person achieve their writing dreams and become the author of their own life?
By donating to YA by the Bay, you’re making an impact for literacy and leadership, both key ingredients to a young person’s future. Consider these statistics from The Literacy Project:
The ratio of books per child in middle-income neighborhoods is 13 books to every 1 child, and in low-income neighborhoods, the ratio is 1 book to every 300 children.
There was a 95% positive correlation with higher reading exposure with a growing region of the brain that supports language processing.
Students who get to select what they read and have an open environment to explore reading in are more motivated, choose to read more often, and their language and literacy development improves at a far greater rate than those who don’t have the same exposure.
When you contribute to YA by the Bay, YOU become a part of fighting these statistics and improving the future for teens across Tampa Bay.
